last little bits

Hi friends! All the last minute preparations are being made for my trip to Silver Bella. I started out with so many ideas, but sometimes there just isn't enough time to finish everything I have in mind.

After last year's event, I was BEAT... I worked on stuff way too long and way too hard... you know how we do that sometimes... push ourselves a little too far? Well, I decided months and months ago that if I return to Silver Bella again, I will maintain my boundaries, only work on what I can, stay focused on a few things and keep it simple. Happily, I feel that I've done that and I'm really happy with what I'm bringing this year.

I've got some supplies, and some handmade items.... everything I think the Bella's will enjoy (and my readers and customers as well!!) Speaking of that, I've received several emails since my last post, with the peeks of the little sugary houses... just to let you all know, I have 15 more houses I've yet to make! So, I'll keep you all posted about them and let you know as soon as they are ready in in my shop.

Also, I will be working on more "Sweet" banner kits... I'll let you know when they are ready as well! ;0)

more Silver Bella peeks!

I shipped off most of my artwork and supplies today... they are on their way to Omaha! I am really excited about my trip to Silver Bella this year, for lots of reasons.

This time around, I will not be attending the classes at Silver Bella  :0(  but I am coming for the entire weekend so I can visit with everyone and chillax the rest of the weekend... sort of a working/playing/resting weekend all wrapped into one.

Like I said, lots of reasons... more time to rest, goodness knows I need it... more time to prepare my table... I sent a few things unfinished in hopes that I can do some crafting in my room while the Bellas are hard at work in their classes. More time to see Omaha and check out all the antiques and shops... gotta bring home prezzies for the kids, you know. And more time to sit and visit with my friends... the best part of Silver Bella, if you ask me! 

My mom is coming along as well, some of you met her last year, she is having her own table at the Vendor Market, find her goodies at the "Morning Glory" table...cuteness GALORE!! Be sure to stop by her table to show her some love if your are coming to SB!! ;0)

I've been working every day until 3AM... so I promised myself once I got my boxes shipped I would go to bed on time... so I'm going to wrap this up now and leave you with some of the things I've been working on... Sugary, sweet, colorful yet a little "shabby", vintage style, pink goodness!

silver bella peeks

It's FINALLY NOVEMBER!! October is always such a hectic month for me... every year I dread it. We have 3 birthday parties to celebrate, costumes and parties to plan for and make, school functions and a dozen other things. It's just nonstop action, candy and gift wrap.

Not to mention that alongside all of that, I'm gathering goodies for Silver Bella... so we have birthday balloons and decorations all over the house, pumpkins on the porch and Christmas and glitter bursting out of the studio. Craziness!

Annnnyway, I can finally put away all of the extra stuff and focus on Silver Bella, which by the way, is only 10 days away from today!!

On to the peeks! I decided to only have 1 table this year, only do a little handmade, supplies and some kits.

A few things I've been working on...

Lots and lots of vintage trimmings... YUM... this is the stuff I would go for... can't believe I'm even parting with them!!  ;0)

I've been toying with this idea for a long time. I was so honored to write an article for the recent Somerset Holidays and Celebrations issue, released in September. 

The feature is a 3 page spread on my "Sweet" banners. The article was AMAZING, the editors did SUCH great job with it and it looks JUST LIKE ME! I am SO SO HAPPY with how it came out!

So, in the publication, you will get step by step instructions on how to make a banner like the one's I've made in the past... this is the banner that was in the article.

 

 

I decided to go ahead and make "Sweet Banner" kits, with step by step instructions, pre-cut papers, embellishments, a bundle of trims and ribbons and handmade rosettes! You will also get a page of letters to choose from, to personalize your banner.

I'll be offering these kits in the Sugar*Sugar shop after Silver Bella. I'm taking as many as I can make to Silver Bella... with Christmas embellishments and goodies to alter a banner for yourself!

 

I have a lot more to show you, but it'll have to wait! Today has slipped by and I've got a lot to cross off of my to do list. I'll be back in a day or two with more goodies. ;0)

I'm baaaack!

Yeah, I'm getting better every day now... all I can tell you about having the H1N1 flu virus is that it KICKED MY BUTT!!! UGH! If you can get a vaccine, GO GET ONE!!!! You DO NOT want to get it, it's BAD!

I'm better now, and the kids are just fine, thank God!

I've been cleaning out the studio in preparations for CHRISTMAS and Silver Bella, which is only but a few weeks away!! I am so not ready! EEEEK!! I lost a week and a half being sick so now I have LOTS to get done. Last chance in the shop for Fall and Halloween goodies THIS WEEK, after that will be CHRISTMAS!!!

let's try again!

Hello once again!

Well, these last few days have been a wash... what can you do?

Today, I found out that the kids and I have H1N1, so we are getting lots of rest and watching waaaay too much TV. In fact, the kids are bored of TV, so we've been playing board games in bed. I forgot how much fun THIS game is! ;0)

Thank you all for your emails, facebook messages and well wishes! We are doing better, so hopefully just a few more days of rest and we'll be as good as new!!

After a loooong weekend of hiccups and repairs, my server assures me the site is safe and sound, thank goodness!!!

403 FORBIDDEN

Um, what is a 403 Forbidden Error?

I don't know either, but what I do know is, that is what you've been seeing all weekend if you've tried to access my shop, Sugar*Sugar.

For security measures, the Sugar*Sugar website is down. My server is doing an investigation on someone else's website, who's files are corrupt and causing major issues.

My site will be down until the other site is repaired... boo hoo.

Maybe that's a good thing... I've been in bed with the flu for 3 days now.

Uh huh. 3 daaaaaaays.

So, I'm headed BACK to my bed, and will give an update as soon as I know anything...

In other news, I got the flu. (insert whining here) *cough cough*

My kids have had it BAD for a week, and now I've caught the nasty bug... So pray for me today would you? I've got a lot on my plate at the moment and really don't have much time to be a sicky poo.
